The Visual Designer at Pathfinder Associates defines presentation layer design for desktop or browser based applications or enterprise level web sites. They work with Information Architects to create the user experience needed for the project; employ high quality standards in preparation of files for coherent maintenance and updating; and possess strong conceptual design skills in branding and information visualization.
We prefer Visual Designers with some experience and aptitude for Information Architecture. The line betwixt is ever blurred. The user experience is the goal, not an artificial taxonomy.
Experience
_ 3+ years visual design experience in a business setting - specifically in the areas of application & web design
_ 1+ years Information Architecture or Usability experience and a strong understanding of browser and application technologies
Skills
_ Creative design skill based on critical thinking and business requirements to convey key concepts and primary visual design layout standards
_ A proven ability to synthesize information flow in user interfaces and create intuitive navigation schemes.
_ Advanced expertise and practical experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash, hand-coded HTML and similar applications
Education
BFA/MFA in graphic design or visual communications.
