Yoonew is a small, well-funded, and rapidly growing startup that combines the allure of sports and financial markets in a new and innovative way. A semi-finalist in the MIT’s 2004 $50k competition (”Fantasy Seats” at the time), yoonew was founded by two Princeton graduates, and has since appeared in the New York Times, Forbes, and local news broadcasts around the country.
We are currently looking for a User Interface Engineer. In this role the candidate will be in charge of the presentation and design of all client-facing media with a primary focus on the visual design and maintenance of the yoonew exchange. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and should be very comfortable taking personal responsibility for the delivery and completion of various projects.
We are a tightly-knit team that operates in a highly collaborative, casual and exciting growth phase environment. You must be able to follow guidance, meet deadlines, and roll with constructive criticism.
What you will be exposed to:

Passionately follow the release and adoption of new technologies and frameworks and demonstrate conversational knowledge of industry trends
Requirements:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Human Factors, Human Interface Design, Graphic Design preferred but all candidates with corresponding work experience will be considered
Expert HTML, CSS, DOM, JavaScript skills
Experience with web graphic creation and optimization (should be proficient using PhotoShop, Image Ready, Illustrator)
Good knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform implementation techniques
Distinguishing Factors:
Experience with 3 or more of the following Ajax topics (Back button, history, and bookmarks; Single-page interface; XPath targeting; Comprehensive event model; State and the observer pattern)
Good understanding of web application development with Java and the Servlet and JSP specifications
Experience with Java presentation frameworks such as Spring, JSF, Seam, and Struts is a big plus
Experience with Flash and Flex
Comfortable with version control, development process, bug tracking, coding standards and other aspects of the standard software development lifecycle
Demonstrable experience with 3 or more JavaScript frameworks (Prototype, Scriptaculous, Dojo, Yahoo! UI Utilities, ext, OpenRico, jQuery, CSSQuery, Other DOM Query APIs, Backbase)
Software development experience
Understanding of Object Oriented design and development
