We are seeking an entrepreneurial Experience Lead to join our rapidly growing User Experience team.
The Experience Lead is responsible for leading the User Experience team, including Information Architects, Content Strategists and User Researchers, and working collaboratively with Creative, Technology and Strategy to create compelling, insight-driven web sites and applications. This is one of the most crucial project roles at Avenue A | Razorfish as it requires an ability both to lead the project team and the client through a user-centered design process to develop meaningful experience concepts, and to execute on those concepts. The Experience Lead is an ideas person who can sell “the big idea” to the client, but who also loves getting their hands dirty in the process. Ideal candidates will have a healthy sense of humor, and are ready to finally work in a place where they are no longer the smartest person in the room.
• Taking a leadership role in developing the information architecture and content strategy of transactional, informational, and marketing websites
• Understanding target audiences’ needs, tasks, and goals and translating them into creative concepts
• Working closely with clients to translate business requirements into meaningful interactive experiences
• Leading and/or participating in immersive user research, concept testing, and usability testing
• Developing user personas and scenarios to clarify results of user research and focus the team’s design efforts on the needs of key users
• Collaboratively developing prototypes for demonstration of concepts to clients
• Developing and documenting detailed user experience specifications for highly interactive interfaces
• Driving User Experience thought leadership in both the company and the industry
• Demonstrated ability to lead design of complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies and metadata frameworks, and templates for content management systems
• Demonstrated ability to develop big ideas, and execute flawlessly against them in a highly collaborative environment
• Demonstrated experience conducting user research and translating user research into design decisions
• Demonstrated experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions
• High tolerance for ambiguity matched only by your desire to organize it
• Willingness to travel
Required Experience:
• 5+ years experience as an information architect, interaction designer, or experience designer (or similar role)
• Master’s degree in a related field, such as library science, industrial design, graphic design, or human-computer interaction
• Advanced proficiency in a variety of design tools including Visio and InDesign, as well as the MS Office Suite
