User Experience Architect at Information Resources, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois

As a User Experience Architect, you’ll work with a multidisciplinary team alongside our Development and Product Management teams to meet the needs of the business and our customers.
Responsible for maintaining usability standards for web site, application and application backend. Ensures the best possible user experience by maintaining consistency in design of application, navigational structure, information architecture and presentation, and ease of user workflow.

You’ll work closely to translate business requirements into architecture schematics/wireframes, content flow models, and functional prototypes, as well as collaborating with development teams to ensure effective implementation of functional solutions.
In this position you will:

- Work closely with a cross-functional team to help define and create the user flows and designs on a next generation portal project
- Assist business leads in creation of use case documents for requirements definition
- Test flow and design ideas through various stages of the development process, including paper-based, prototype and live application, with both internal and external users of the application
- Work closely with the development team to assist in implementation of final flow and design concepts
- Provide expert advice and assistance in such areas as Information Architecture, User Experience, Interaction Design, Visual Design and Usability Testing

The position will involve about 30% travel, including international. A valid passport will be required.
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in designing/implementing UI solutions
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as an Information Architect
- Demonstrated ability to develop wireframes, process/screen flows, design patterns, prototypes
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into a cohesive design idea
- Experience in usability test set-up and moderating
- Understanding of user centered design principles and ideas
- Experience in creating high and low-fidelity wireframes
- Ability to define a task analysis
- Experience in performing user interviews
- Experience in use case development
- Experience with Visio, HTML, omniGraffle

Additional skills desired, but not required include:
• Skills at graphic design and creation
• Experience with HTML prototype development.
• Experience working in an agile development environment
