Usable Security Systems is looking for a world class programmer to lead our front-end development. You’ll be joining a small startup that is passionate about solving one of the most important problems in computing—building security systems that people can use, and that they enjoy using. As a lead developer, you will shape the direction of Usable’s products, will work with the latest technologies (and problems) and have great autonomy in your work.
A good description of you:
- You want to build systems that people love to use.
- You’re an expert in the languages and standards of the web: Javascript, Actionscript 3.0, Flash, Flex, DOM, D/XHTML, CSS.
- You know browser internals (including platform and version idiosyncrasies) and server conventions.
- You have good user interaction instincts and can respond rapidly to user feedback. You are accustomed to working closely with user interaction and graphics designers.
- You have education, experience, and interest in computer science, software engineering, human-computer interaction, computer/network security, and/or distributed systems.
- You can write and communicate effectively and enjoy working with other people, both technical and non-technical.
- You’re sophisticated about software development, including the tools, process, team, and community aspects.
- You’ve shipped code and products on deadline.
- You’re a leader. You can build the first version of a new system and steward its future development.
This is full time position, based in San Francisco, CA (near South Park and walking distance to BART and Caltrain). Salary is commensurate with experience and includes health benefits and stock options.
