UI / Visual Designer
Starting immediately, Monster is hiring an enthusiastic UI / Visual Designer to join our design team and create the new way in which Monster’s products and services are going to be presented to our end users globally. We’re looking for a passionate designer to help us redefine how consumers will use the internet to search for jobs and candidates, connect, network and manage their careers.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers and copywriters committed to developing innovative, easy-to-use, best-of-breed new products and overhauling existing ones in accordance with Monster’s new brand guidelines.
Essential Functions
• Translate conceptual ideas into engaging visual presentations and design solutions.
• Conceptualize and create brand-consistent, easy-to-use, attractive and meaningful user interfaces (and other design deliverables: layouts/UIs, widgets, patterns, color palettes, typography, wireframes, workflows, iconography and user interface elements) for use on the web.
• Communicate your design thinking in a way that works for all the parties involved (engineers, product managers, partners, etc.) through appropriately detailed specifications and reviews.
• Participate and collaborate in concept development and design ideation to help define a creative strategy based on Monster’s new brand guidelines.
• Provide design expertise to the organization and work directly with Web Development and Software Engineering to push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web.
Qualifications
• 3+ years experience in comparable web design roles.
• Bachelor’s degree required in design-related discipline: Interaction, Graphic or Interface design.
• Solid skills in graphic design, an excellent eye for typography, clean layout, purposeful color, and a fanatical attention to detail down to the pixel. You must have a deep appreciation for simple, sleek, usable interfaces.
• You will be responsible for all stages of design on one or more of Monster’s products. Therefore, you must think strategically while executing with great attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of overall web site design, including basic usability, industry standards, architecture and navigation.
• Proficient to expert in: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Fireworks.
• HTML skills including XHTML and CSS.
• Knowledge of cross-platform browser compatibility restrictions and requirements desired.
• Interaction design skills: experience creating wireframes, site/system flows, site architecture diagrams, etc desired.
• Design experiences in mobile, accessibility or desktop software a plus.
• Experience creating or maintaining interface guidelines in a software environment a plus.
