TMX Communications is looking for a professional, detail-oriented, persuasive advocate for the end-user. Our User Experience Architect must be a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working in a collaborative team structure. The right candidate must understand how to shape an experience to fit the needs of both the business and the end user. In addition to directly working with the creative and development teams, the UX talent must be comfortable interfacing with the account team and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop information architecture for websites and other creative projects.
- Create and document information design concepts and solutions by various means, including wire frames, diagrams, site maps, and rapid prototypes.
- Assist producers, project managers, account executives, and creative director in scoping and estimating IA projects, and presenting concepts to client when appropriate.
- Conduct heuristic evaluations of websites and applications
- Document existing architecture of sites via content inventory and site maps
- Communicate the value and necessity of user-centered design to clients and stakeholders
- Conduct usability tests and facilitate the implementation of test findings
Requirements:
- 2-5 years industry experience (agency experience a plus)
- Expert level proficiency in Visio and other standard IA tools
- Up-to-date knowledge of accepted industry trends/best practices
- Familiarity with the work of industry thought leaders (e.g. Peter Morville, Louis Rosenfeld, Steve Krug, etc).

Bonus Requirements:
- Any experience with front-end web development (XHTML, CSS, Javascript) is a huge plus. Writing code will not be your primary responsibility, but if you see yourself as a bit of a hybrid (doing mostly IA/usability work sprinkled with front-end coding), this position is probably perfect for you.
Note: This is an User Experience Architect position and NOT a Graphic Designer position. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing information architecture for web, product, and all online interactions.
