We are a consumer focused Internet startup based in Manhattan and currently in stealth mode. We are extremely well-funded by a Tier A venture capital firm and led by a successful entrepreneur – previously the founder and CEO of a business that he grew to 0M/yr in revenue and several hundred employees.
We have a tremendously accomplished engineering team whose members architected and scaled Microsoft’s search engine between 2003 and late 2007. They hold computer science and economics degrees from CalTech, University of Pennsylvania, University of Maryland, and Harvard. We’re an elite group working to solve a large and fun problem in a tight-knit environment carefully designed to optimize creativity.
We’re seeking an accomplished and experienced web developer to expand the team. The hired individual will work to create highly usable experiences in HTML, CSS, and Javascript and drive it through to real code that is high-performance and works seamlessly across multiple browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc). You should be neurotically attentive to detail (god is in the details after all), love solving user problems, crave simplicity, and be willing to get your hands dirty building every aspect of the front end of a consumer website that will, over time, attract millions of customers.
We are looking for an engineer who:
- Will work closely with a small team of people to develop functional prototypes and production code
- Develop useful and usable experiences in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (you should consider yourself an expert in these technologies)
- Cares deeply about user experience and high-performance websites
- Work extremely well with others
Requirements:
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or other technical discipline
- 3+ yrs experience building successful web applications as a key contributor
- Portfolio of self-started projects that demonstrate your web development and UX skills
