Job Description:
The seasoned, consumer-focused Senior User Interaction Designer will help lead the direction of the MyFamily.com product’s user experience. The Interaction Designer plays a critical role in translating the product requirements into a concrete visual roadmap for the product.
Key Responsibilities / Performance Requirements:
- The position requires an individual who can work very closely with a small, but dedicated team, to quickly produce wireframes and storyboards for crystallizing and communicating the user story flow, moving rapidly to designing the screen layout, navigation, and look & feel, to providing final visual element for incorporating into the product.
- As a web-based service, experience in designing functional web applications is a critical requirement for the ideal candidate, including the ability to find elegant solutions to complex problems that involve building and maintaining social networks, photo/media sharing and online journaling.
- Be involved in a variety of user centered design activities like usability testing and contextual inquiry.
- Have a good working knowledge of implementation technologies including CSS, DHTML, Flash, and other web-based interactive layers.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years experience in consumer product and/or web site design;
- Hands-on experience designing functional web-based applications based on user centered design principles;
- Proficient in prototyping, storyboarding, and developing wireframes to map out the overall product flow;
- Experience with user-centered design and usability testing;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
