Test/QA Engineer
Location: Clovis, CA

Position Summary: Plans, executes, and reports on test and validation of Pelco products. This is a senior level position responsible for the development of test and validation strategies. This position is responsible for the level of functional and non-functional quality of the products released from Engineering.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Analyze product and software component models to plan testing
2. Perform risk analysis of product changes and recommend appropriate test strategies
3. Develop plans to achieve functional and non-functional test coverage
4. Develop performance, and resource utilization test strategies
5. Define configurations for equipment under test
6. Develop test scenarios, use cases, and test scripts
7. Design/develop test harnesses, fixtures, and automated test strategies
8. Setup test environments
9. Manage resources necessary to execute tests including people and equipment
10. Execute tests
11. Write defect reports
12. Analyze, summarize, and report functional, performance analysis and stress testing results
13. Report component reliability, efficiency results
14. Track and report upon trends in product quality during development life-cycle
15. Report on coverage of quality characteristics tested
16. Adheres to health, fire and safety regulations; identifies potential safety hazards and reports such to the Human Resources Director.

18. Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. Knowledge and experience with Windows/Linux operationg systems.
2. Knowledge and experience with Test Engineering strategies and techniques
3. Strong analytical skills and ability to approach test and validation problems scientifically
4. Srong knowledge of software engineering and development lifecycles and methodologies
5. Knowledge of TCP/IP standard protocols and network technologies.
6. Knowledge and experience writing use cases and test plans.
7. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
8. Ability to think in a logical and systematic way to solve problems, incorporate suggestions and create solutions.
9. Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and network techniques “on the job”.
10. Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
11. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in written and verbal forms.
12. Ability to work in a drug-free environment and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Desirable:
1. Advanced degree in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering or Information Technology
2. Experience with digital video systems and technologies such as MPEG4, H.264, etc.
3. Experience with RDBMS systems and SQL
4. Prior Software Engineering experience with competency in one or more programming or scripting languages.
