Swiss-Army-Knife Software Engineer at Bose Corporation (Framingham, MA 01701)

The Home Entertainment Applied Research Group at Bose is seeking a Swiss-Army-Knife Software Engineer to join its Intelligent Music Systems team. If you join us, you’ll help build proof-of-concept prototypes of future Bose Home Entertainment products, and you’ll work in a fast-moving sustainable-pace environment, swiftly designing, implementing, demonstrating and distributing concepts.

This position is perfect for a software engineer who has the ability to quickly learn new technologies and work out the best ways to mash-up existing concepts into something new and exciting. Nothing should make you happier than the prospect of standing around the whiteboard with co-workers sketching out a design then running back to your desk and implementing it.

From the following list of technologies and concepts we have used over the last few years, the ideal candidate will have strong experience with a handful, a passing awareness of the majority, and excitement at the prospect of learning the ones they don’t already know:

ActionScript, AJAX, Amazon SimpleDB, Apache, AppleScript, Audio Fingerprinting, Bayesian Filtering, C/C++, C#, COM, CSS, Django, DRM, Encryption, Firewalls, Flash, iPodLinux, iTunes, Java, Javascript, JQuery, Linux, Lucene, MP3 Tagging, .NET, Network Security, OS X, Python, REST, Scrum, SOAP, SQLite, Streaming Media, Subversion, Sockets, Unit Testing, USB HID, Virtualization, Web Services, Wi-Fi, Windows, wxWidgets, XML

Our team uses and likes Python, Java, Scrum, Subversion and FogBugz.

Music geek preferred.
