We are looking for a Full-time User Interface Designer for our
fast-growing email marketing application, StreamSend. Telecommuting
within Northern California is possible after a certain training
period.
As a UI Designer, you will be responsible for designing, enhancing,
and optimizing the application and marketing sites. You must function
well as a member of the development team (requiring excellent teamwork
and communication skills) but also as an independent individual
(requiring superior time management skills, not to mention strong
creativity.)
Experience and knowledge of the following languages is a plus: Ruby,
SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as some PHP and Perl. We use
the Rails MVC framework. As a UI Designer, in many cases you will be
making changes to views directly.
Responsibilities
- Develop wireframes, and prototypes for the application
- Test usability and work with developers to debug web applications
- Work on application enhancements and new features
- Proactively fine the application screens, suggest interface improvements, and features
- Implement designs using views in the application
Requirements
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in building web applications and interfaces
- Experience with Photoshop and other graphic software
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar highly preferred
- Excellent CSS/HTML and Javascript knowledge
- Familiarity with Model-View-Controller design pattern
- Excellent time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited college or university
or suitable substitute required. 1-3 years of user interface designer
experience preferred.
