The Opportunity
We are looking for a new web programmer. We need a code enthusiast with clear programming aptitude who wants to use their talent to create web applications the whole company can stand behind. All programmers in the technical team get involved in a variety of work:
Developing against frameworks (internal and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007); Extending frameworks; Building highly bespoke functionality; Designing and Building new frameworks
The current opportunity is orientated around bolstering the team’s capacity in relation to MOSS 2007 projects.
Details of MOSS 2007 focus
You will work alongside a senior developer to share information and extend Storm’s capabilities with the MOSS platform. You will be tasked to develop specific skills in relation to MOSS 2007.
MOSS Websites (“Publishing Portal/CMS”):
Building sites with the WCM capabilities of MOSS 2007 for Internet;
Programme field controls based on requirements
MOSS Intranets (“Collaboration Portal/WSS 3.0”):
Master the Central Administrations and Share Service Provider features of MOSS Collaboration Portal;
Work on specific areas of MOSS functionality (i.e. Forms Services, Excel Services, the Business Data Catalog) to engineer solutions;
Use and extend the MOSS Web Part framework to deliver customised functionality
Develop understanding of:
Use the MOSS branding functionality in collaboration with the creative team;
Adopt all practices from the MOSS Accessibility toolkit
MOSS Infrastructure:
Working with the MOSS network/infrastructure environment
Required Skills
You must have a good grounding in Object Oriented programming;
ASP.NET 2.0;
SQL Server 2000/2005;
Solid web background providing a good knowledge of webmaster skills, intermediate DBA skills and sound knowledge of HTML and CSS;
Visual Studio 2008 / 2005.
Desirable
Experience with WSS3.0 or MOSS 2007;
Knowledge of C#;
Use of Object Relational Mappers;
Test Driven Development;
Unit Test writing;
Domain Driven Design practices;
Agile development practices;
Monorail (or similar MVC framework);
Cross-over skills: Usability, Information architecture, appreciation of the design values;
Familiarity with standards for:
Accessibility,
XHTML,
CSS,
eGIF
