We are looking for a highly motivated, self starting individual to join our technology team. As a Sr. Software Engineer (MS VC++, MFC), you will be involved in the entire software lifecycle. From helping finalize specifications, to architecting designs, to coding software, to writing installers. Using MS VC++ you will be developing the next generation of desktop applications for the legal industry. You will have the opportunity to participate in determining the direction of new development and actively share knowledge with other team members.
Responsibilities:
• To develop Windows desktop applications with MS VC++.
• Implementing and designing software components, file and database formats, and installation components.
• Meeting project milestone and completion dates.
• Tracking, documenting, reproducing and correcting problems in LiveNote products.
• Versioning and building of internal and external releases.
• Documenting product design with code comments and standalone documents, as needed for internal use.
• Staying current and learning new technology as necessary for designing and implementing new software components.
Requirements:
• Experience developing Windows desktop applications with MS VC++.
• Knowledge of MFC, Windows API, and COM.
• Experience with object-oriented programming in C++, low-level type manipulation including character arrays and bit shifting.
• Experience writing custom WIN32 GUI controls, optimizing code and writing time sensitive algorithms as well as a thorough understanding of memory management including stack/heap.
• Experience writing, debugging and optimizing SQL database queries.
• Must be expert user with the following tools:
o Visual Studio, Windows Installer, NMAKE, Visual SourceSafe.
• Should be fully versed with:
o MFC, COM, Win32 API, STL, ATL, ADO, SQL, Jet, MSSQL Server, ASP, OCX, XML/XSL, HTML, and scripting.
• Experience with IIS setup and administration is a plus.
• This position requires a candidate who is highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Successful candidate must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including high degree of attention to detail and accurate processes.
• Knowledge of the legal industry is preferred but not required.
