Position Overview:
Headquartered in San Francisco, liveBooks is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing development organization. We are looking for someone who will contribute to a great project and to the creation of a viable and thriving development culture. In this role, you will design and develop server-side solutions for a suite of software-as-a-service applications. The desire to understand customer requirements and create effective solutions to their problems is essential. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and you will have demonstrated experience working well in teams.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with architects and product managers to create product definitions including data and transaction models
• Design and implement server-side software to support browser and web-service interactions
• Work with quality team to create test methods and tools including unit tests
• Support software over life cycle from ideation through deployment, with a focus on great customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• B.S. in Computer Science or comparable degree
• Minimum of five years experience developing web-based software applications
• Experience developing object-oriented software
• Knowledge of Linux/Apache operating environment
• Experience with hosted software solutions for individuals or freelance business applications a major plus
• Knowledge of MySQL, PHP, Flash highly desirable
