Responsible for leading the visual and information design of an industry leading commercial software application for a core, high growth Rockwell Automation product line. This is an industry leading product that has won numerous awards for innovation and usability. The position is located in a modern facility with a full fitness center, cafeteria and outdoor, wooded walking paths.
In this position you will lead interaction design for our next generation software products supporting industrial automation system design. As a core member of the Interaction Design Team, you will be responsible for representing and conducting user experience design at Rockwell Automation. You will engage in the full development lifecycle—from initial research and conceptualization through evaluation and delivery—to applying best-practice user-centered design and usability engineering techniques to develop breakthrough designs for the Rockwell Automation suite of products. You will be working with other specialists on the interaction design and architecture teams, and collaborating with various product groups to conceptualize, design, and prototype ideas. You will communicate and collaborate with management, marketing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure designs are fulfilled in products.
Required Experience and Skills
Masters degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, Cognitive or Behavioral Science, or related field required (or equivalent demonstrated experience and expertise).
• Must have seven or more years of experience in interaction/user experience design for interactive software products.
• Must have experience in highly interactive, sovereign-posture, commercial software applications on desktop, web, and distributed technologies.
• Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Portfolio of work /samples of interaction design work required.
