As a Software Engineer at Sportgenic, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web-based tools and widgets that will be shared across the Sportgenic publisher network. You will work with the product management and engineering teams to create highly-configurable, skinnable products that can easily be deployed on multiple external web sites. We use agile development methodologies and short build cycles.
The Sportgenic publisher network currently has over 300 sports-related sites and is adding more every day. We are continually creating software tools for our publisher network: self-service portals, CMS publisher tools, community modules, and engaging web widgets.
Qualifications:
- BS or Advanced Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years experience in web application software development
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and MySQL is required
- Additional experience in multiple object-oriented web application frameworks
- Extensive experience with Javascript libraries and CSS is a plus
- Experience with Flash and Flex is a plus
- Experience with social networking tools and widgets is a plus
- Experience with content management tools is a plus
- Familiarity with linux environments
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- The ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Enjoy working in start-up environment
