Sony PlayStation: Senior Software Engineer - C++, Java, PlayStation 3, Debug Web

SCEA’s Tools and Technologies Group (T&T) provides the infrastructure, tools and run-time libraries that are shared among all SCEA’s Next Gen teams. We work closely with all our PlayStation 3 game teams and our online and graphics groups. We have an immediate need for an expert software engineer. The successful candidate will be a key contributor in the creation of technologies used to improve PlayStation’s competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
• Be a Senior Staff Engineer, Debug Web Services in the Platform Group of T&T. Develop the core web service technologies to power a new generation of tools and interfaces. Work directly with the game teams, group tech lead, and group managers to define and create (or port) optimized tools, system libraries and drivers, protocols, and more as needed.
• Integrate T&T technologies into DTE, our Debug and Test Environment.
• Identifies common software needs between game teams. Designs and implements and documents software to meet those needs. Supports game teams throughout integration.
Requirements:
• Multithreaded/Multiprocessor programming expert.
• 10+ years combined experience programming in C/C++/Java.
• 2+ years Windows development experience.
• 2+ years Linux, BSD, Solaris, or SGI development experience.
• 2+ years working with SQL.
• 2+ years working with XML.
• Talented designer with a strong desire to create elegant, useful technology that delights users.
• Excellent planning/documentation skills mandatory.
• Experience in client-server and distributed processing.
• Positive and motivated person who enjoys working on a team.
• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
• Experience using GWT
• Japanese a plus
• Experience designing easy to use graphical user interfaces
• PlayStation 3 or other console experience
• C++ Expert
