SCEA’s Tools and Technologies Group (T&T) provides the infrastructure, tools and run-time libraries that are shared among all SCEA’s Next Gen. teams. We work closely with all our PlayStation 3 game teams and our online and graphics groups. We have an immediate need for an expert software engineer. The successful candidate will be a key contributor in the creation technologies used to improve PlayStation’s competitive advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement industry leading technology for orchestrating massively parallel automated testing, debugging, crash forensics, performance analysis for hit PlayStation games and libraries. Be a key contributor on the team building the world’s best game development tools and technology.
REQUIREMENTS:
This job requires top-notch engineering skills to meet the design and implementation challenges. Technology developed will be under the scrutiny of highly talented and highly demanding game teams.
• Multithreaded/Multiprocessor programming expert.
• 10+ years combined experience programming in Java/C/C++.
• 2+ years Windows development experience.
• 2+ years Linux, BSD, Solaris, or SGI development experience.
• 2+ years working with SQL.
• 2+ years working with XML.
• Talented designer with a strong desire to create elegant, useful technology that delights users.
• Excellent planning/documentation skills mandatory.
• Experience in client-server and distributed processing.
• Positive and motivated person who enjoys working on a team.
PREFERRED:
• Experience using GWT.
• Japanese a plus.
• Experience designing easy to use graphical user interfaces.
IDEAL:
• PlayStation 3 or other console experience
• Java or C++ Expert.
EDUCATION:
• BA/BS or equivalent.
