Songkick makes it easier and more fun to discover and experience live music. We’re currently a small, but well-funded startup based in Shoreditch, East London, but we have big plans. And we need your help to make them happen.
We’re looking for a full-time senior digital designer: someone who can take the lead on how the Songkick experience should look and feel. You should know and care about information architecture, information design, usability, and similar areas of design, but you’re also passionate and experienced in the visual side of things. We need you to bring our thinking, research, and wireframes to life—as well as (of course) helping with that thinking, research, and wireframing.
You’re probably a seasoned in-house hand or worked your way up a few steps in an agency, but perhaps work life is a little too much of the same old, same old, and the fast pace and creative freedom of a startup tickles your fancy.
Along with a junior designer (we’re looking for that person as well), whom you’ll be managing and mentoring, you’ll work with a phenomenal development team (if we do say so ourselves) and passionate product managers to define the experience and create a delightful working product. You’ll get to design a lot, see your work live in no time at all, and you’ll get the world’s feedback on it.
Responsibilities:
• Visual design of all Songkick properties.
• Develop, maintain, and evolve the Songkick brand.
• Participate in developing the Songkick product.
• Manage and prioritize the design work flow.
Experience:
• Great portfolio of digital creations (stuff that both looks and works great)
• 4-6 years experience in similar position in-house or at an agency
• Relevant degree a plus, but not required.
Essential functional / technical skills:
• People management potential and aspiration a must, experience not.
• Loving live music is big plus.
• Good understanding of interaction design.
