Songkick makes it easier and more fun to discover and experience live music. We’re currently a small but well-funded startup based in Shoreditch, East London, but we have big plans. And we need your help to make them happen.
We have an opening for a junior digital designer/front-end developer: someone who can help us produce a great Songkick experience. You’ll work for a senior digital designer (we’re also looking for that person), and the senior designer will help you learn and grow as a creative, while together you build a great live music experience for Songkick. You’ll dive right in with the front-end development.
You can write XHTML and CSS in your sleep (and JS when you’re awake), and you get excited about developing a gorgeous face for a web app that is a pleasure to use, and powered by a phenomenal back end. You’d like to hone your design skills under the guidance of an experienced senior designer.
This is a great opportunity to do meaningful work that will go live for the world to see in no time at all.
Responsibilities:
• Creative and front-end production on all Songkick properties
• Develop, maintain, and evolve Songkick design guidelines
• Participate in developing the Songkick product
Experience:
• Great portfolio of digital creative (stuff that both looks and works great)
• 1-3 years experience in a similar position at a rapidly evolving company
• Relevant degree a plus, but not required
Essential functional / technical skills:
• Fireworks or Photoshop whiz kid
• Expert and up-to-date XHTML, CSS and JS writing skills
• You scoff in the face of cross-browser compatibility issues
The kind of person we’re looking for:
• has the desire and will to produce great work
• has an obsessive eye for details
• is creative yet methodical
You’ll be working in a small team of really passionate people and we’re looking to hire immediately.
