Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver technical demos for clients and for use at trade shows, conferences, and other events
• Interface with clients in person and on the phone to provide technical expertise
• Participate in trade shows and conduct product demonstrations
• Provide advice on server system design, configuration, and tuning
• Work closely with account managers to understand client requirements and to help formulate appropriate GIS solutions
• Support clients in using ArcGIS Server, geodatabases, and associated technologies
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in geography, computer science, GIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Two years of experience with RDBMS administration (SQL Server, Oracle) or object-oriented application server technology
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical problem solving skills
• General knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
• Ability to travel throughout the region (California, Nevada, Hawaii)
Recommended Qualifications
• Experience with ESRI server/developer technologies including ArcObjects, ArcIMS, ArcGIS Server, ArcWeb Services, or ArcSDE
• Familiarity with GIS and technical terms and the ability to communicate technical information
• Attention to detail
• Excellent presentation skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience promoting products and or applications
• Significant experience with ArcObjects, .NET (C# or VB.NET), Java, or PL/SQL
• Working familiarity of scripting technologies such as Python or Java Script and mark-up technologies such as XML implementations and HTML
• Familiarity with current trends in IT and software development such as service oriented architecture, Web 2.0, enterprise information systems, EJB, portals, application frameworks, Web services, REST, AJAX, etc.
