NBC Universal is building a team to manage and dramatically expand its presence in the local space online. The Local Integrated Media (LIM) team will be responsible for building the strategy and operations around managing and growing premium online properties. The local market is poised for substantial growth and this is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of that growth.
This position will involve a combination of hands-on development work and system architecture with oversight over a team of 2-4 front-end web developers. In doing so, they will also work closely with Project/Product Managers to meet timelines and feature requirements
This team will be building many new products, providing many opportunities for this position to greatly influence the technology directions taken and system architecture used.
Due to the variety of products and projects involved, engineers will work with numerous technologies and development languages as needed.
Responsibilities
- Architect great front-end web technologies that implement an excellent and high-quality user experience
- Split time between hands-on development work and oversight over a team of approximately 2-4 front-end developers
- Work closely with Project/Product Managers to meet timelines and features/requirements
Desired
- Ability to make technical tradeoffs to balance user experience, performance, scalability and project schedule
- Solid understanding of web usability and standard practices
- Broad knowledge of available web development technologies, frameworks and libraries
- Demonstrated self-motivation and organizational skills
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience creating great websites in HTML, Flash, CSS, Java, PHP and JavaScript
