Dartmouth College seeks a talented and enthusiastic Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing and responsively supporting critical campus computing infrastructure systems. This highly motivated individual must have experience in multiple current programming languages, including C, C++, Perl, PHP and Java; knowledge of directory and authentication systems including LDAP and Radius; experience with web-based single sign-on systems such as CAS, Kerberos, and Shibboleth; and familiarity with computer security systems including public-key cryptography.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and five or more years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of networked computer systems. The candidate should have a solid understanding of Linux or other UNIX networked Operating Systems and knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing and protocols. We are looking for someone with the ability to write purchase justifications, train users in complex topics, make presentations to customers or professional peers, and interact positively with upper management. Willingness to provide on call support for critical systems is required.
