We currently have an opportunity for a software engineer to participate in the development of our financial products in our downtown Chicago (311 South Wacker Drive) office. A software engineer is typically responsible for all phases of development, working closely with product managers, project leads and architects.
FactSet fixed income analytics products, part of FactSet’s full suite of financial applications, offer complete fixed income analytics and portfolio management software to financial institutions trading and investing in the fixed income market. Our products provide all the tools necessary for the proper valuation and risk management of all fixed income securities and derivatives, including structured products such as ABS and CDO. We combine the best Analytics, Data Coverage and Technology available anywhere to deliver a scalable, distributed, and market proven enterprise Fixed Income Software Solution. Our software is currently used by hundreds of traders, analysts, portfolio managers and risk managers at leading Broker/Dealers, Banks, Insurance Companies, Money Managers, Hedge Funds and other financial institutions.
The candidate must have solid Microsoft Visual Basic or .Net and SQL Server experience. Ability to solve problems and work independently is a key requirement. Areas of development include:
• Application design; reporting and publishing
• Database design and programming in SQL Server
• .Net web development
• Optimal and efficient handling of large data structures
• Large scale and distributed compute grid development
• Analytical financial programming such as statistically models and financial data structuring, and potentially credit, prepayment and interest rate models, derivative, structured products and optimization
The candidates must have strong written and oral communication, documentation and organization skill, attention to details, and with the following minimum requirements:
• Education: BS in computer science or other scientific and engineering discipline, with at least 2 years of experience
• Strong core computer science skills such as algorithm, data structure, database architecture and design; thorough understanding OS
• Solid knowledge and experience in Visual Basic/ADO and/or .Net/ADO.Net; .Net web development and SQL Server
