We’re seeking several experienced, self-motivated, passionate, highly productive engineers (junior -> principal) to join the PermissionTV Development Team. This position will report to the Director of Software Engineering and is based in PermissionTV’s Waltham office.
The PermissionTV platform is a multi-layer system with a service oriented architecture (SOA) built on .NET and SQL Server 2005. The front end of the system is built primarily in Adobe ActionScript and Flex.
As an engineer on the PermissionTV platform, you will be responsible for the design and development of PermissionTV software components. We develop primarily in C#, ASP.NET and TSQL. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of enterprise server programming, including database design and development. In addition, our engineers are expected to be self-starters who can operate well under a variety of different situations and team dynamics. Good problem-solving and excellent communication skills are a must, along with the items described in the lists below.
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
• Passion for and self-motivated interest in Software Development as a profession, not just a job
• Professional experience with at least one OO language (.NET, Java, C++)
• Professional experience with at least one Relational Database Management System such as SQL Server or Oracle
• Experience with Design Patterns, Refactoring, OO Design and related areas
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Must be proactive, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and able to work well under pressure
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to work as part of a team
The following qualifications are a plus:
• Expert level experience in C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server
• Experience working with new product development
• Fundamental understanding of SOA, Web Services, SOAP, and WCF
• Experience working in an agile methodology such as Scrum or XP
• Experience with Adobe ActionScript and Flex
• BS or MS in Computer Science or Degree in a similar field
Compensation and title is commensurate with experience
