Being part of a small team means that each engineer plays a role in design, architecture and development; you won’t be handed a 50-page technical spec and sent off into the corner to insert tab A into slot B.

* help design and architect new features
* argue about the right way to do things
* work closely with others to help develop features
* take ownership and help test, release and maintain the code you write
* research new technologies that will help Yammer remain competitive
