Position Objective
As a Software Engineer for GoMobo, you’ll be working on new and exciting projects that integrate with or form part of GoMobo’s mobile ordering platform. This is a senior level technical position that will require a multitude of different skills for each project. You will report to the Development Manager and work according to specifications from a Systems Architect.
You should be self-motivated, well-organized, and excited to take ownership and responsibility for your work. GoMobo has a strong focus on teamwork, so it’s important to be able to give and take criticism constructively, and you should also have a passion for computing and software engineering that extends past working hours. Above all you should be psyched about the mobile space and the possibilities for GoMobo!
Minimum requirements:
• At least 3 years on-the-job development experience at a senior technical level.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft C# 2.0, .NET Framework 2.0, Visual Studio 2005
• Degree or equivalent tertiary education
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Legally allowed to work in New York
Additional preferential skills desired:
• ASP.NET 2.0
• XHTML, CSS, Javascript & AJAX
• SQL Server 2005, MS SQL, LINQ
• Any of C / C++ / Java / ASP Classic
• Linux/Unix, SymbianOS, Windows Mobile
• J2ME, BREW, Android etc.
• Experience developing or integrating with Point-of-Sale software, a huge advantage.
• Experience developing for mobile devices, a huge advantage.
• Good all-round knowledge relating to software engineering, platforms, languages, databases, networking & sockets programming, OO, SOA, middleware layers and integration methodologies.
