We are currently seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our team. SUMMARY
This position contributes to current company product line of OLAP Business Development Tools, interactive reporting tools, and new product lines, as part of MITS’s Software Engineering team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze, design, develop, create, and modify software for commercial and/or end-user applications.
• Active involvement in design reviews and significantly influence the final designs selected for production code.
• Perform new product research and development.
• Effectively apply development best practices.
• Mentor junior members.
• Work closely with QA to ensure software robustness and accuracy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
• Java (3+ years) programming language
• Relational databases
• Development of Web sites backed by relational databases
• JSP (2+ years)
• Javascript (1+ years)
• J2EE application server or a servlet runner (e.g. Apache Tomcat)
• Spring framework (1+ years)
• Proven track record of successful implementations
Preferred
• Experience with BASIC (1+ years) programming language
• Apache Derby relational database
• Proficiency with reporting tools
• Apache Tomcat (Version 5.x or higher)
• JBoss application server
• Eclipse IDE or IntelliJ IDE
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
SKILLS REQUIRED
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team with programming staff and systems documentation analysts on resolving software defects
• Ability to plan, schedule, execute, and complete work in a self-directed mode from inception through to production.
