You will:
Join our development team in designing and developing our popular online application and the tools we use to run our business behind the scenes — you should be able to figure out what that entails. You’ll learn hands-on about our industry and our customers, and you’ll be figuring out how to make them happy, and then going ahead and doing it.
We need you to have:
3 years’ experience building online applications
2-3 years experience with object-oriented development
Serious SQL chops
Communication skills like whoa (you better be able to talk to customers on the phone (yes, we talk to our customers on the phone))
Demonstrated fanatical attention to detail
No desire to waste our time because you don’t actually have some of the qualities described above
We hope you have:
Experience deploying and maintaining web server technology
Familiarity with source control systems
Experience with “Agile” development methodologies (whatever “Agile” means)
Without solid, inventive development, FreshBooks can’t keep leading the industry. If you’ve got a healthy skepticism towards buzzwords (like, uh, “Web 2.0” and “Agile”) and big promises of how much fun you’re going to have, but still dream of working on what can legitimately be called The Next Big Thing, you might be for us.
