Job Description:
• You will be working with product management, development, and other test engineers to ensure that Crossroads’ products ship on time with the highest possible quality.
• The products you will be testing require that you have a strong background in IT storage solutions.
• In addition to your product test responsibilities, you may also develop test automation to help increase functional and regression test coverage and improve test times.
• As a member of the test team you will have the opportunity to contribute to Crossroads’ overall test strategies and tactical plans.
Responsibilities:
• Research and analyze product requirements and designs to define test plans and procedures.
• These plans must cover product installation, feature verification, usability, performance and release integrity.
• Develop both automated and manual tests.
• Execute automated and manual test cases based on test plans to ensure product readiness, stability, and robustness.
• Clearly document problems found during testing and work with development to isolate and troubleshoot problems.
• Work with product development, technical support, and the test team to determine best testing practices.
The requirements below describe the ideal candidate. Test engineers that meet some, but not necessarily all of the requirements are encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
• B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years development and/or system test experience.
• Proficiency with Windows programming (Win32, NT native API, COM, MFC). Experience with web programming, including XML.
• Experience with Windows NT system administration. Knowledge of Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, or AIX is a plus.
• Experience with the following: Windows Server 2003, CIFS, NFS, Windows clustering, and MCC.
• Knowledge of Windows filter drivers, storage adapters, InstallShield, Explorer plug-ins, SIS, DFS-R and VSS is a plus.
• Experience with enterprise IT storage systems, including backup/recovery, archiving, and hierarchical storage management. Knowledge of replication, de-duplication, and content addressable storage is a plus.
• Excellent debugging and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of software development processes and lifecycle.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment with both local and remote team members.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
