Zephyr is seeking a Senior Web Services Developer to contribute to an enterprise investment analytics and reporting web service. This is an ideal time to join the team as we embark on the next phase of our web service offerings. You will have the opportunity to take an integral role in the definition, implementation, and the success of the product.
You should have a breadth of understanding of multiple systems and languages including C++, Java, C#/.Net, Windows, and Linux. You should have strong depth of understanding of network application architectures. Ideally, you have developed web service APIs which have been used in a production environment.
Responsibilities:
• Take ownership of Zephyr’s web service components.
• Provide APIs and documentation to application developers.
• Provide documentation to system administrators for installation, maintenance, and recovery of failed components.
• Refactor existing code to provide new features while considering long term strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
• Excellent depth of knowledge in network application architecture and web service protocols.
• Confidence in multiple programming languages including Java, C++, and C#.
• Experience developing high availability, production quality web service APIs.
• Thorough understanding of common server concurrency models.
• Understanding of HTTP proxying, caching, and load balancing.
Nice To Have:
• Understanding of established single sign on and emerging identity protocols.
• Understanding of event driven I/O mechanisms on Linux and/or Windows.
• Understanding of current web server (Apache or IIS) threading models and the progression of Apache’s concurrency architecture.
