This role is for a seasoned user experience designer, with a strong personal vision for how technology and design can be mobilized to create usable, extensible, accessible and gratifying user experiences. The person should be well versed in the web and application user experience realm.
Key Responsibilities
Define functionality, content, navigation, and information architecture by conducting interviews deploying surveys, facilitating focus groups, moderating usability tests, card sorting, and translate findings into wireframes, site-maps, process flowcharts, content matrices, conceptual diagrams and other documentation.
• Present Information Architecture and Usability deliverables and recommendations to project teams and lead related meetings
• Contribute to the definition scope and phasing of project timelines
• Participate in business development and project planning (e.g. putting together and participating in presentations, scoping, resource planning, etc.)
• Create user personae, use-case scenarios, and task based affordance tests.
• Contribute to the development of content models, nomenclature and taxonomies
• Collaborate closely with designers and technologists to build consensus around solutions to interface challenges
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic or Industrial Design, Computer Science, HCI, Fine Arts, Architecture, Library Sciences or related areas; or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience as a key member of a multidisciplinary interactive design and development team (preferably in an agency)
• Must demonstrate a capacity for strategic, conceptual and associative thinking, and the ability to translate this thinking into useful conceptual designs and supporting documentation
• Must be self-confident enough to ask questions when you don’t know the answer, as well as generous enough to make yourself open to those who ask you for help
