Responsible for designing compelling, interactive user experiences, leading efforts to create user experience standards, and championing user centered design for web & intranet products at HBS. Conducts end user needs assessment, user research, & task/scenario analysis. Develops solution strategies that align with & support business needs & end user goals. Working with team members, creates & revises information architecture documents including but not limited to site maps, user profiles, user scenarios, use cases, wireframes, flow diagrams, & detailed functional requirements. Working with team members, creates information structure & navigation flows for internet, extranet, & intranet sites as well as other online applications. Clearly and concisely presents design deliverables to clients & leads discussions around those designs. Makes proposals & lead discussions around UX standards for HBS. Documents, publicizes, & promotes standards as needed. Evangelizes user-centered design; mentors other staff members on user experience practices. Understands and applies latest user experience trends & best practices for addressing design challenges. Works closely with Information Technology Group and Marketing & Communications. Postgraduate degree in Information Architecture, Human Factors, or related fields or comparable experience preferred. 5 + years experience in a user-centered design role, preferably in a consulting environment. Proven ability to create effective, elegant, usable design solutions. Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Strong critical thinking & analytical skills. Knowledge of Sharepoint and/or Vignette a plus. Strong visual, oral and written communication skills. Excellent listener.
