Truveo is looking for a talented and capable individual to fill the role of Senior Unix System/Applications Adminstrator.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Deployment of Truveo application components in production.
- Support for the Truveo video search engine production environment.
- Maintaining the development, staging, production, and lab environments.
- Managing performance analysis, capacity planning, tool development and various automation processes.
- Configuring systems, networks, and enhancing existing monitoring frameworks.
Education:
BA/BS in computer science or related field or 3+ years of equivalent industry experience.
Required Skills:
- Fluency with at least one scripting or coding language.
- A minimum of 3 years of Linux expertise (10 for Senior level position).
- Deep understanding of internet protocols and technologies from both the server and client perspective.
- Excellent knowledge of at least one of the following tools: NetSaint, Cacti, NetCool.
- Strong communications skills.
- A sense of urgency, ownership and drive.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Red Hat Advanced Server.
- Experience with MySQL and SQL.
- Experience with Ruby, PHP, or XML.
- Experience with MS Windows XP & Server 2003 administration.
- Knowledge of utilities for monitoring system performance.
- Prior startup experience.
- Understanding of search engine and data mining technologies.
- Experience with virtualization.
