Position Summary
The Senior Software Engineer will design and develop software for a next-generation Visual Analytics and Collaboration suite, specifically focusing on desktop analysis applications. The Engineer will be focused on building innovative technology for query generation, fast data calculation, and high-performance graphics rendering. You will be challenged to leverage your creativity and experience to create new features and products that satisfy customer needs and extend their ability to see, understand, and “reach out and touch” their data. The Senior Software Engineer will provide many interesting, hard code technical challenges and as much responsibility as you can handle.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design and development of server-side and client-side software in the visual analytics and collaborative data analysis space.
Responsibilities
Implement major features in the server and desktop products
Author requirements and design documents for major features
Author automated tests (unit test and black box tests)
Work with customers, support, and QA to resolve bugs and support issues
Improve software development process by building or deploying tools to the team
Review and provide detailed feedback on documentation and test plans for features
Occasional travel may be required
Experience
Strong knowledge of Windows technologies and development tools
Excellent understanding of C++ and experience implementing large-scale C++ systems on Windows platforms
Strong knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing
Experience with SQL-92 and SQL-99
Familiarity with OLAP and MDX
5+ years developing software with a strong focus on design and architecture skills
Demonstrated ability to deliver packaged software solutions to customers is a must
Highly organized with the ability to take on multiple simultaneous projects in a fast paced, flexible work environment
Strong teamwork ethic with the ability to work cross-functionally with members of the Development, QA, Support, and Sales teams
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
BSCS or equivalent
