The Intelligence Solutions Business Unit is seeking an exceptional, experienced senior software engineer to enhance the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) Program. The Intelligence Solutions Business Unit is responsible for the development of the IBS Dissemination System (IDS) of the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) Program. IBS is a $130M spiral software development program to provide near real time intelligence data to military users across all services. IBS, a certified CMMI Level 3 program, implements the software solution, deploying it on suites of hardware to multiple worldwide locations to support critical intelligence dissemination and real world missions.
We’re seeking an innovative Software Engineer to join our unique team as we continue our history of excellence. The senior software engineer will join the IBS Data Management team in the design and implementation of the Spiral 4 Data Management Subsystem. This challenging work will include extending existing C++ and Java software as well as the creation of new software to meet the new requirements of the upcoming spiral. The team will leverage new and current technologies such as Solaris 10, Sun Cluster, Java 6, J2EE, XML/XSLT, and more.
The ideal candidate would be highly-motivated and a self-starter. They would have a strong background in both C++ development (including STL, socket programming, and multithreaded programming) and in Java development (including J2EE, Java servlets, JMS, and XML/XSLT). They would relish a hard problem and strive for the elegant solution. They are team-participants: eager to learn, eager to debate alternatives, eager to mentor, and eager to help.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or other technical field
• At least 5 years of C++ development experience (including STL, socket programming, multithreaded programming)
• At least 5 years of Java development experience (including web-based or J2EE programming)
• At least 5 years of object-oriented design and programming experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with Solaris 10, including DTrace, zones, kernel tuning, and advanced shell scripting
• Experience with Java 6 and Java technologies, including J2EE 3.0, JUnit, and Ant
• Experience with Sun Java Enterprise COTS
• Experience with Sun Cluster COTS
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS
• Experience with UML and Rational Rose
• Experience with Razor, DOORS
• Experience with intelligence systems/broadcasts
