About the Position
The Senior Web Developer would lead development of innovative, open-source, web-based solutions.
These solutions would include e-commerce sites, non-commercial sites and web-based tools. Mbira uses Agile/Scrum methodology.
Responsibilities of the Position
* Perform a lead role in design, development and support of top-quality open-source web sites.
* Introduce forward-thinking technologies and solutions.
* Contribute to the design of databases and develop SQL queries.
* Trouble-shoot and resolve website issues, and potentially man call support for critical production issues.
Required Experience
* 5+ years of web development and support.
* 3+ years of open-source web development experience.
* Significant experience with PHP, Perl, SQL, and Unix shell-scripting with self-written coding
samples provided when applying.
* Strong knowledge of relational database design.
* Strong object-oriented design and development skills.
Other Qualifications
* Experience leading development projects.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Enjoy working in a team environment.
Optional Experience
* Experience with e-commerce web development.
* Experience with Subversion.
* Experience with Zend Framework and/or Symfony.
* Experience with ETL development.
* Experience with data-mining or business intelligence.

* Pay commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience.
