Requirements/Background
Technical
3 to 5 years experience developing OO software applications.
Thorough knowledge of Java.
Familiar with open source Java middleware such as Tomcat.
Experience with ORM systems such as Hibernate.
Familiarity with Tapestry or other web serving layers such as Struts and JSP.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, PHP and Cold Fusion.
Working knowledge of presentation languages such as Flash, CSS and Javascipt.
Experience designing and building database intensive applications with competency in SQL. Oracle database experience would be a nice to have.
Organizational
Excellent communication skills to be used in working with marketing and business executives.
Capable of understanding and converting the business principles underlying product specifications into scalable web based applications.
Have demonstrated the ability to architect, build and deliver complex web based applications in a dynamic environment.
Experience working is an environment that has a combination of and long and short cycle development projects.
Experience working in a high energy collaborative environment.
Experience developing applications using a development methodology such as XP and Agile.
Education
University degree in computer science with emphasis on application design using documented design strategies and methodologies.
