Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Minimum five years of relevant experience required preferably in the financial industry.
•Expertise in large scale database systems and large scale database design using OLAP.
•Experience with database connectivity (both between databases and between database systems and clients to databases) in a diverse computing environment.
•Experience with transact-SQL.
•Experience in Database Administration required.
•Familiarity with issues of high performance computing.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with various businesses.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Position description

The Senior Front Office Database Architect will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of all front office databases and will report to the Head of Quantitative Research.

This successful candidate will collaborate with six different business lines assessing their current data needs and processes and effectively changing and or/implementing a state of the art database solution.

This successful candidate will be able to recommend needed changes and execute on implementation. In particular the Sr. Front Office Database Architect will:

•Assess current data sources, retrieval methods, and storage methods and recommend needed changes.
•Analyze the current state database processes and assess the future state needs in order to design, develop, and implement the front office database. Part of this analysis will include understanding the various different systems currently in use and considering how to integrate the systems.
•Maintain integrity of all data and implement necessary changes to protect and/or enhance integrity of data.
•Create, maintain and optimize databases that support extensive data analysis.
