Senior Digital Content and Media Developer at International Air Transport Association (IATA) (Montreal, QC)

Narrative Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Content Services, the Senior Digital Content and Media Developer is responsible for handling development of products and services for distribution via electronic means to support the Marketing and Commercial Services (MACS) mandate to publish and distribute critical content to the industry. The successful candidate will be helping to shape the future of publishing for an international organization with worldwide impact.

Responsibilities
Working in coordination with external resources as needed, develop and produce all digital media products scheduled for production within the Corporate Publishing department as well as;
Document and maintain all design documents, functional specifications, procedures and processes related to product development and maintenance; ensure proper filing, archiving, versioning and tracking of all product development-related files as well as their documentation;
Keep up to date with current and emerging technologies;
Work closely with the team in offering suggestions that enhance product concepts ensuring that final concepts are brought to fruition, and recommend options for development or enhancements for existing products;
Participate in new project/product development to assist in implementation of new technologies, processes and software for electronic content/document distribution;
Work closely with the Assistant Director, Content Services in assessing digital media technologies and other production components/software, and assist in developing reports detailing the results of these assessments; and
Work closely with Project Managers and provide them with regular updates on all phases of digital media production to ensure all components are developed and delivered in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills
University degree, with 5-7 years extensive knowledge of Windows (Win2k; Server 2003; XP; Vista);
Extensive knowledge in development languages: Visual C++ with working knowledge of MFC and DAO, HTML Help Technology. Familiarity with .NET, ASP, C#,and XML technologies, especially XSLT, and DTD as well as Flex, Ajax, Flash and other technologies for development of applications with rich user experience knowledge is an asset;
Knowledge of InstallShield, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Acrobat is required. Familiarity with AutoPlay Menustudio and HelpScribble would be an asset.
Formal training or equivalent experience in production methods, database development, electronic document production, production filtering processes, search, CD-ROM and Internet publishing, SGML and/or HTML editing and graphic arts; knowledge of CD mastering techniques. Web Content Management and interactive online forms experience is an asset; and
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; other language proficiency (French, Spanish, German) would be an asset.
