Foundation Information Technology (IT) is responsible for evolving and executing the foundation’s strategy for information technology systems in accordance with the organization’s business requirements. This includes planning, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating cost-efficient enterprise systems that support both distributed and centralized grant management and business operations. IT also supports foundation programs directly, consulting on the execution of grants that include IT components.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to lead the design and development of enterprise class web applications leveraging Agile development methodology
• Lead an Agile development team to implement high visibility, high performance, and secure web solutions
• Provide best-in-class expertise and mentoring in Agile development
• Develop and collaborate on architecture, code reviews, technology standards mentor other team members on their implementation and governance
• Be a hands-on leader and involved in all aspects of development including coding, testing, and quality assurance
• Partner with Business Analysts and Project Mangers to distill business requirements into technical functional requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience and self-study
• At least 5 years experience leading development efforts for secure enterprise class internal and external web systems
• Established experience in the following areas:
-Agile development practices, strong understanding with one or more Agile development methodologies (e.g., XP, SCRUM, FDD)
-Building and consuming web services
-Content management systems
-Design patterns and code architecture
-End-to-end system development life cycle
-HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
-ASP .Net, and C#, T-SQL
-SharePoint 2007 platform
-Internet applications and protocols including HTTP, DNS, ASP.NET, and IIS
• Strong initiative and experience in small teams where expected to be a self-starter
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
