BatchBlue Software seeks a full-time Ruby on Rails software developer in the New York or New England area to help build useful, user-friendly software for growing businesses and take our flagship BatchBook application (now in beta) to the next level.
We’re looking for someone who cares as much about the user experience as they do about the code, someone who is excited about adapting big business technologies to the needs of smaller businesses, someone who will participate at all levels in the brainstorming, design and implementation of features.
Please be conversant in Ruby and Rails, SQL, Javascript/AJAX, and CSS. Experience with Apache, Mongrel, PostgreSQL, RSpec and Capistrano would be especially helpful. We’re looking for the kind of developer who is familiar with the principles laid out in books like "The Pragmatic Programmer" and "Code Complete". Extra credit for experience with Java, JRuby, integration with desktop office applications, and participation in Open Source projects.
