Location: US or Canada
Social networking web site seeks outside developer(s) for work on a current project. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO START IMMEDIATELY, a full-time developer (no freelancers with day jobs or companies/agencies please), have strong experience in meticulous cross-browser CSS, and a familiarity with PHP-scripted applications in the LAMP environment. Any location is fine, but we’re in the middle of a development cycle, so excellent communication and the ability to handle short deadlines and hit the ground running are essential.
You should be prepared to:
- Devote a solid amount of hours to an existing project for the next few days, on a predictable (although not necessarily 9 – 5, if you prefer) schedule. We can then consider a longer-term regular schedule with fewer demands.
- Get up to speed on our site and its structure quickly.
- PHP coding knowledge is a plus, but not required. But you must be comfortable working with a PHP-driven web site delivered from MySQL.
- No original design will be necessary, but you must be able to translate comps or revision lists into clear, logical, and meticulously cross-browser CSS, and make careful changes to existing sheets.
- Experience with SVN a good plus.
- Be a good communicator, and be able to estimate job times and control your own schedule so that you meet deadlines and contribute in a predictable way.
