RoR Power is a boutique recruiting firm specializing in Ruby on Rails opportunities. Our client is looking for multiple RoR experts, including a VP of Engineering / CTO to lead its engineering team. The company has a patented technology for music discovery, and is using it as the foundation in a web 2.0 SaaS offering. The core team of world-class Physics and Math PhD’s have spent years creating this unique technology which has transformational potential for music and community across all languages and genres globally. Harvard Business School documented a full case study on the technology and there have been numerous news articles on the company (e.g., BBC, NBC, The Economist, The New York Times, Le Monde, CNN, and others) in the recent past. A top-level Hollywood movie producer and a world-famous music icon are on the advisory board.
The bulk of the engineering team is located in Savannah, GA, but the company is also hiring for the Herndon, VA and San Francisco, CA offices. The company recently received MM from angel investors and is rapidly scaling up. The web 2.0 framework is done entirely in Ruby on Rails.
For the VP Engineering or CTO role, the CEO is looking for a technology leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to join the company in a pivotal leadership role. The ideal candidate must possess authoritative knowledge of RoR, strong academic computer science background, and the ability to inspire a team. The Board is willing and able to put together the right compensation package for the right candidate. The focus is on hiring the best talent.
The company is also looking for lead RoR engineers with front end experience (jQuery, Prototype, Scriptaculous, Flex, ActionScript, Flash, etc), as well as a lead architect with hands-on RoR scaling experience.
