Responsibilities:
Overall management responsibility of the software release process for a variety of custom projects.
Responsible for early release definition and scope negotiation.
Prepare test procedures and execute testing strategies.
Establish release schedules, tracking, and control procedures.
Develop release notes and installation documentation.
Design, build, and maintain the test environment.
Provide management with metrics, reports, and schedules as necessary.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science, or a related field.
Three years of prior experience within a software development or quality assurance work environment.
Excellent coordinate/project management skills.
Must be a self starter.
Minimum of one year of experience leading a release or quality assurance team.
Successful development and implementation of release plans within a software development organization.
Knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, or DB2.
Strong problem-solving skills using a methodical approach.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
A keen attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered.

Recommended Qualifications:
Familiarity with programming concepts and methodologies.
Programming abilities to develop test programs and scripts.
GIS knowledge.
