Recomed is a seed-funded startup based in Singapore currently building its founding team. Our mission is to improve access to healthcare for millions of patients everywhere by helping people find the best doctors, clinics, and hospitals around the world. Our pilot phase includes building a network of providers in Southeast Asia which is why we’re based here.
We’re looking for a talented and experienced web architect / lead engineer to join us immediately. Our ideal candidate has the all-around skills to lead the specification, design, and development of our web platform. We are looking for a self-starter who is quick, sharp, hands-on, and able to shift from personally coding to directing a team of developers and designers.
You’ll have the chance to lead the work from the ground up – from designing the architecture, assembling and managing the team, choosing the right technology and tools, all the way to launching the web platform, and leading its continuous upgrade and monitoring.
You are a talented developer with extensive experience developing in Ruby on Rails. You’ve been designing and building high-traffic, consumer-facing websites for the last 5 years. You believe in rapid iteration. You are comfortable with Linux, can program in PHP, Perl and Ruby, know AJAX well enough that you know when it’s appropriate to use, and savvy enough with database design that MySQL should be a breeze. You have solid knowledge of agile development practices. Most importantly though, you have great design sense and an excellent intuition for user interface.
