MarketFactory is a high-growth company founded in July 2007 with the goal of making a positive impact on the world, starting with the world of financial services. We want to be a leading technology platform company, focusing initially on electronically traded markets.

We are a team of engineers, developers, business analysts and quants who embrace Agile development, unit testing, and open source tools and libraries. We characterize ourselves as analytical and creative, with an appetite for the occasional risk; one of our developers built his own motorcycle and then drove it cross country. Without a license.
We are developing a platform that focuses on the thorniest problems in trading; speed of light issues in message transmission, dynamically generated markets, rapid liquidity provision.
Every employee in the company is an equity owner. It’s important that we build a performance-based culture free of politics and hidden agendas, where everyone acts like it’s their business, because it is.
While we’re still an early-stage startup, we’d like to start giving a little back now. We’ve donated 1% of our founder’s equity to a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization called MarketFactory Foundation and in the the future hope to donate more towards supporting the communities in which we live and work.
~~About this role~~
• We are seeking an ambitious Project Manager to lead a rapidly growing development team
• This position will involve some development management
• The development team consists of back-end C++ programmers, front-end UI developers, business analysts, and QA testers (currently hiring!)
• The Project Manager will work closely with our CTO/Chief Architect. The PM will be responsible for day-to-day project and people management, planning, budgeting, and project delivery
• Big mandate, big responsibility, big opportunity
~~Required Skills~~
• 3-5 year track record of previous success as a project manager leading a team of at least 5 development staff
• Strong ability to successfully deliver high-pressure projects on time and with limited resources
• Deep MS-Project expertise. Deep experience forecasting software development timeframes, and managing development budgets
• Experience in software engineering, software development using C++, including technical architecture, application development, and middleware
• Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design
• Experience with trading and market data systems, ECN microstructure, matching engine algorithms preferred
• OTC market or trading knowledge of instruments such as bonds, forwards, swaps, options preferred
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and technical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Graduate degree in computer science or mathematics and substantial work experience in financial services preferred
• Know how to have fun; we’ll be having bbq’s on the fire escape in the summertime. We’re working on the foosball table
