A well-funded startup backed by Internet Pioneers You’ve Heard Of is looking for a junior Web Designer.
Major Responsibilities:
This is a highly visible position, and a key member of the team, with three main responsibilities:
1. Help conceive, develop and execute the overall creative vision of the site
2. Help architect the basic design templates and navigation protocols for the entire site
3. Work closely with technical and editorial teams to ensure an exceptional user experience

Job Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have a portfolio demonstrating sophisticated designs and examples of exceptional user experience.- BFA or BA in Graphic Design or equivalent; MFA helpful but not required.
- Minimum of 1-4 years experience in graphic/web design and site development; Editorial design experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to take direction and constructive criticism and be flexible in thinking
- Ability to handle multiple projects across multiple brands and ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in the basic principles of search-engine friendly design
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash (including ActionScript), CSS, HTML/XHTML .
- Proficiency in MAC OS X and Windows XP platforms
