We are looking for a hands-on Ruby on Rails engineering manager to drive the implementation of our core technology platform. This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious start-up and design technology from the ground up.
Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Python
• Experience working in Unix environments (Solaris, Linux) is good
• Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, and/or Fedora/Red Hat is a plus
• Entrepreneurial passion and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience managing software development teams
• Experience building scalable web applications
• Willingness to dig into the code and take a hands-on role
• 7+ years of experience in software development
• Extensive Experience with web-application development.
• Comfortable designing and managing databases, preferably MySQL or MS SQL
• Experience managing offshore resources a plus
• Passion for consuming online content
